Re: My rigs thread.... Feel free to post yours !

Bought an Antec H1200 AIO cooler to try out.

Seeing quite a nice drop in temps. Not a bad little unit for 60 quid, though i opted to use the corsair sp fans that i had on my k2 air cooler. Didnt like the look of the blue led's on the supplied fans.

Yep, and origin is pretty much the same. I'm dreading reinstalling steam. Will take an age to download my games. Had them backed up to a 1tb hard drive but it bit the dust mid system rebuild.

Its crazy how things have come along. I only got into pc's around 10 years ago. Even in that time the improvements have been pretty amazing.

Updating to the latest bios seems to have cured the freezing in game issue. Ram now back at 3000mhz.

Lol, i know what you mean. :) My method of justifying the expensive purchases theese days is that it keeps me out of the pub. Doesnt always work strangely.

Re: 5820k overclocking

Thought as much mate. Cheers. Just need to crack on with the CPU now. Done a bit of quick testing at 36x125 but using auto voltage. Peaks at 1.322 at load. Will see how it fares with manual settings. One core spiking to 83c under XTU, rest mid 70's.

Re: 5820k overclocking

Is it a known issue trying to run 3000mhz ram on a non oc socket board? At stock cpu speed or oc'd with xmp enabled, im getting freezes in games. Dropped the ram speed down to 2666mhz and so far no issues.

Re: Battlefield Wednesday evenings 2015

Glad your all sorted Rob Cheers mate. :) Had a quick run on bf3 just now, feels so different. Gpu only hitting 60c, and a quick n dirty 4.5ghz oc on the cpu, this chip is much cooler running than the 4790k was. Same volts of 1.300 on both, albeit the 4790k was at 4.7ghz. 64c max on the 5820k vs 75c...

Re: I have an itch to scratch

Whilst i havent seen the IPS swift in the flesh. Ive just started using the TN version. Gotta say that colours look pretty decent on it, got a few osd and nvidia control panel settings from Greg which really helped. For a TN panel, horizontal viewing angles are actually very good. You do notice a bi...

Re: 5820k overclocking

Cheers Nick, indeed no oc socket on this board. So input voltage is pretty much the same then as standard haswell. On it with all my chips I was advised that input should be around 0.5v higher than vcore. Ie on my last 4790k, 1.300v, 1.800 input.
