Did you tweak? Or how are you running the benchmark?

Hmmm not sure I know tweaks for CB really....that is safe mode start up, stuff killed in task manager, low resolution and priority set but nothing else...but it is win 8...have to do a win 7 run

I'm not too sure of any R15 tweaks myself either. The only thing I know is that it loves fast and tight RAM as well as raw CPU grunt.

As i suspected your cpu arne is very good. I can se 5ghz + on phase with yours. 4.8ghz at 1.42v cb 15 is nearly as good as my best 5960x chip on core/volt scaling. And yours have a very strong Imc.

Congrats for the strong Cpu.

My best 5960x do this on my binning/test with phase do this on 1.39v cb 15

http://hwbot.org/submission/2847908_pulse88_cinebench___r15_core_i7_5960x_1909_cb

Xtu with 4.75ghz 1.39v

http://hwbot.org/submission/2847314_pul ... 2372_marks

cb11.5 4.9ghz 1.42v

http://hwbot.org/submission/2847907_pulse88_cinebench___r11.5_core_i7_5960x_21.24_points

Will redo runs when on cascade and then with oc mem and uncore.

Cheers Pulse! yeah seems the CPU fairy godmother was looking out for me this time....

Will have to sort out some decent cooling for it one day....but for now it is retired since it will be up to 40 degrees here this week coming....benching season might be over

Just checked those out...nice CPU you have there too! :D

2100 barrier downed !! Very nice my friend!.

A tweak:

Low res screen, than shift Cinebench out of the screen until you can just see /hit the run button.

The rendering now takes places out of focus..= less strain on cpu!

Works in 11.5 and 15!

Cheers henk!

And thanks for the tip....all welcome....i think I have that more or less working...I drop the resolution so low the actual render is not displayed during run.....but it's not exactly your method so I'll give that a go...

With cinebench 11.5 you can also make the window smaller which does the exact same thing really.

didn't have much tweaking time, so i still need to sort memory and cache out, but not a bad baseline. up from 373 on air :)

Not bad at all dude, much better CPU than the ones me and Dewi got anyway :P

A little boost in the memory and cache will go a very long way indeed!!!

yeah. i've had this one since day one as i pre ordered it with the z97 soc force when it came out. didn't have time to tweak with anything much as people went to bed, so phase cooler had to go :P still. hoping 5.5-5.6ghz and mem and cache tweaking tomorrow! 8-)

My cache won't go over 42 and setting my ram to 9-12-11-30-1T didn't make my score any better. i was using upto 2.4v on the input voltage, upto 1.6v on the cache voltage and 1.62v on the cpu still at 5.4ghz. if i raise the cache at all it just shuts off. it doesn't even bosd :( also i went upto 1.75v on the cpu and i wouldn't run at 5.5ghz, that shut off too. Temps are always below 0c although at 1.75v i did see it flash to 8c off a second.

I just noticed from the sub too that it only says single channel ram, not sure if it's an 8GB stick or 2 x 4GB but if it's meant to be dual channel you might want to remount your CPU, could be the cause of your poor cache overclocking too.

As lewis said, remount cooler! You may be warping the board if too tight and pins may not be contacting correctly.

yeah i think it was only seeing 4gb in the bios for some reason. the phase changer is a bit annoying because its quite loud, so i dont really like to put it on when everyone else is in :( i'm going to get some foam to sit it on and i might put some on the side panels as well.

Lawrence, just a tip with the voltages.

If you put far too much voltage through the cache, it will be just as unstable as if it had too little going through it. That's my experience with cache voltages anyway. It needs tuning, like any other voltage. :D

Teach me tweaks guys ;P.

Ram would maybe give some but there must be a software tweak also.
