whats the best gpu i can get that wont bottleneck cpu?

Post #1 by syks » Sun Jan 17, 2016 1:42 am

hi guys,,after lots of searching ive realised its not as easy as just buying any old gpu and your away,,,seems i have a limited cpu,,i have the a8 5600k and my question is whats the absolute best gpu i can get that wont cause a bottleneck? i was going to get the r9 280k but it seems im right on the limit of a bottleneck with that card,,,i just want the best i can get untill i can afford to upgrade everything.

thanks

Yer, the 750Ti will work well. Not a super fast card but not a slouch either.

yes it seems it is the best choice without bottlenecking :) ive been offered a mint boxed one for £60 so i think im going to buy it,,,then later in the year upgrade my apu to the athlon 860k so i can get the r9 280x card,,,i will be happy then as thats good enough for me,,,for now lol :)

just installed my gtx 750ti oc and im impressed with it :) can now run arma 3 at 1080p in high/very high with a little aa at 30fps which is fine for me,,,can also run dirt rally at 1080p on ultra with crowd and a couple of other things turned down a bit and get 38fps average :) WELL happy!! my old 1gb saphire 5850 toxic couldnt run dirt even in 720p! although the old card seemed to have better lighting,,, overall im VERY happy with this card

EDIT just used gpu tweak and upped the gpu a tiny little bit,,now hitting 40fps average on dirt rally,,,i think this is a great card for the price :)

It's thats what you can afford. 30-40fps is very playable, not everyone can knock out solid 100-200 fps on games.

lol ive been used to 30fps for years playing console games,,,i can hit alot higher if i turn the graphics down etc,,,i was getting around 100fps on tf2 the other day,,it peaked at over 200fps :) i honestly dont mind playing with around 30fps if im playing single player games,,,when online i will be turning down the settings a bit though to get more fps :)

im hoping to upgrade my cpu sometime this year to the athlon 860k which should help a bit,,,,im a bit limited to what cpu i can have due to my motherboard
