Here is my contribution:

I decided to show you the image my wife mostly sees ...

Since we have already seen a lot off bench systems I wanted to show you the system / Case Mod I am most proud off and which is my 24/7 system:

Bird of Prey

I wanted create something completely different. I was inspired on the one hand by visiting a Cathedral in Barcelona Spain, called "La Sagrada Familia". It has these beautiful stained glass windows, that when the sun shines radiate light into the building. The other thing I love are Birds of Prey, I often see them flying and then take a high speed dive to grab the pray. Accuracy transformed to an art!

Creating it however was a hole different story since stainded glass is not easy to make or find. I found this manufacturer that does special projects for architects and artists: they have mastered the art of printing on glass. Using a very special paint that contains glass particles. After the printer (its a kind of Huge ink-jet printer) is done, the glass goes into a furnace this process hardens the glass. An very importantly the glass parts in the paint melt and make the color / print sink into the glass. Thats a print that can't fade, can't be scratched or whatever. The manufacturer normally doesn't do small scale stuff (printing 1 small piece of glass costs the same as 1 huge piece of glass), but they made an exception for me.

This is what I designed: Stained glass meets Bird of Prey:

Image

It was nicely produced:

I created another special print on glass, a method invented by the manufacturer. Using a special print technique (small dots) its possible to print an image in white. If you than place led light strips on the side of the glass the light passes through. However if the light it hits a white printed dot, its path is bend and the light reflects outward. This creates an image with light! The fun part is that you can change the led color and the print changes as well!
This is the glass with the printed dots, the light is off

This is with red lighting:

Some other colors:

I planned the entire build including a custom built water cooling setup:

This is the end result:
