Congrats, great clocks on the GPU!

Any news on when the Beast will be available? I'm thinking of getting a new pot, mine is a little old and dented...

CaseKing are setting it up now. The issue is that parts such as mounting accessories are all sourced from different suppliers so its a pain to put on the system. This is only delay many pieces in stock. Great pot. The best.

Starting to understand this HWBot Prime malarkey, debatable as to whether XP or 7 is best for the L3014 got, similar results with both but going to go for broke tomorrow with it. Should be able to get close to 3.1K if the CPU performs as it did this morning.

Here's what a managed today before the board froze up.

I am still searching for L3014 but they seems to be very rare nowadays...

Cheers dude, had a lot of fun with the CPU and learnt a lot about the platform in the meantime.

Yeah I have a second L3014 that I need to test but I've lost it somewhere. I think I've put it in the "test" pile of 775 CPUs. Normally that wouldn't be an issue but I have around 300 CPUs to test and because they've been moved around a lot in the last few months it is difficult to read the markings on the top of the CPUs right now so it will be fun trying to find it.......

Wow! 5th place global on SS? Damn Lewis. Looks like you had more luck than me this morning. Congrats buddy. :)

I will crack 8GHz!! God damn British weather.

This is the best I could manage today with the board being absolutely soaked within less than an hour.

Nice going there OP and Brend

Brend what are you using to get that final bit of Mhz out of the CPU.

If you want you are welcome to bench CPUz with the CPU I did 32mil on two years ago. I never did.

I'm booting with a low multi raising it using PSCheck to change the multi in Windows.

I've redone the insulation with some advice from Lewis, so it should last longer now. Paper towels for the win! Lots of them.

Wow. For real, Dag? I'd absolutely love that!! :D :D

Saw some pictures at hwbot, are you not using any vaseline or liquid electrical tape? Also no fans blowing air up from your pot? Fans (I find one fan is not really enough) is very important and will help you a lot if you don't have any in your current setup. I use two 140 mm @ 1500 rpm. Also large area of vaseline/LET is important. Ice is not as bad as water, and water will form quite a bit away from the cpu area.

No liquid tape on the board. Just a vast area of putty. :D

I have a fan on pot, blowing the vapour away. It's just not in the picture. Benching in 90+% humidity sucks. If it fails to get far this time. I'll cover it in liquid tape. :D

Talking of insulating, the PCI-e slot and Vaseline, I can't get my fat fingers in to seal it! And this was probably the cause of an early end to my last session. Is there an easier way?? I'm nearly tempted to try a powered riser to eliminate this problem, after doing some testing the performance hit was minimal

Perhaps use a small paint brush? :D

quarter inch paint brush - cut the top third of the bristles off and then paint the vaso thick.

Hair dryer to melt and flow the vasoline under the contact points.

Simple

So Vaseline can go in the slot??? And does not matter if it gets in the contacts inside??
