Lovely board. Easy to OC. Haven't tried anything further than 4.2GHz tbh. System flies compared to my HTPC. It's so nice to watch movies on

Pfft I wouldn't know where to start pal!

Does anyone use the onboard soundcard? Is it enough to drive Senn G4ME headphones with 150Ohm impedance?

Is it better to get the ST or STX version of the ASUS Xonar for the RVE?

Would the ST fit in the middle black slot for example or is it best to get the PCIe and use the bottom slot, thus taking some bandwidth away from the middle card?

If your cards are air cooled i'd use the first long black slot as this would help airflow.

I haven't had time to investigate this properly yet but I have an STX and fitted it in black long slot between two SLId 980s....would not work!?¿ I thought it would...

Works in bottom red slot and leaves two GPUs at x16x16...

Will investigate more/confirm this.....don't know if it's a problem of my board or what?

I remember quite a few complaints about ASUS Xonar cards so I tried a Xonar and a Creative card in every slot except number one, the Creative worked fine, my Xonar didn't work in any slot, then I gave up trying to help as I am using this board for benching only I disable as many onboard devices as possible, I have not even verified the onboard sound works

I am a bit worried now but I believe 0802 bios has sorted the Xonar issues. I'll send them back if I get into trouble

What are so special about these then? Do you then have to install anything else?

BTW my Xonar is working fine with the new cans

Getting a few problems myself now. Random shutdowns

ACPI\PNP0A0A\2&daba3ff&1

I seem to be getting these errors

Any thoughts?

P.S. Is it just me or is OCUK getting worse for help now?

No real help on OCUK, just trolling.

Would never dream of asking for any as Google is fine as other will have had same issues.

Do you have the Intel Management driver installed (though they really are not needed for non workstation remote use) or the driver to get rid of missing device if you do not install Asus AI Suite?

That fault in Google point to those.

Thanks for the reply mate

Googled for like 2 hours and decided to change VCCSA voltage to 1.15V from default. Fingers crossed / touch wood - it's solved it. Playing Shadow of Mordor with 150% scaling no problems

Aside, OCUK is filled with dicks mostly. Few good guys. Thank God this place is here for more mature trolling... I mean advice haha

Whats the X99 platform like compared to X79? or is it early days? have read quite a few problems with X99... Maybe some bios revisions will iron out the kinks :)

Its freaking awesome albeit a few niggles, but i can put up with them for the performance it brings. Was it worth the upgrade from a 4930??? If i dont think about the cost, most definitely, although i was blessed with a fairly good chip if it had been a poor one well it may of been a different story. Cant really coment on gaming side of things as i have only played about an hours worth and that was on Grid.
