Anyone heard of these memory modules, I have never used Geil, but seems like a hell of a good price, no idea what chips there using free SSD, why is this so cheap?

Re: GEIL SUPER LUCE ?
GeIL used to do some good RAM back in the day, but they're not so popular in the UK any longer.
That seems like a great deal. I believe they may still be quite big in the US and other parts of the world, but don't quote me on that.

Hmmm 16-18-18-36
G.Skill have 16-16-16 36 and I start to wonder about second and third timings
I would really like to see speed increases married with timing decreases before I buy more DDR4....want to see 3200 C12 or 3400 C13 and lots of fours in second timings and zeros in third

Re: GEIL SUPER LUCE ?
It will most likely tighten without too much hassle. There may be better modules out there, but they're all pretty similar if they're for day to day usage.
Re: GEIL SUPER LUCE ?
I believe there are 3 manufacturers of DDR4 modules at the moment (I could very well be wrong), Hynix, Samsung and Micron, we know Gskill is using Hynix MFR, my guess is these maybe one of the others just because the price is so much lower than the Gskill or Corsair 3400 mhz kits. There are no reviews I can find, I purchased the kit just to try it out, figure I can maybe sell the SSD BNIB for half price and sell the RAM kit at $50.00 less and play with the kit for free, or on the off chance it is a killer kit keep it, worst case, it only costs me some time and then we all know to stay away from these

Cunning plan....

Re: GEIL SUPER LUCE ?
Sounded like a cunning plan
Boots and runs kind of OK on XMP setting, blck 167 or 170 or something but look at the AIDA results. I call this disapointing

My DDR 3000 at 3200, cache 4400 and Arne's timings

The Geil is going on ebay to someone I don't know, then I may have to move and change my name
The Girl and Mustang, unfortunately neither belong to me

Re: GEIL SUPER LUCE ?
Oh and besides the above not knowing what chips are on these I tried memory presets in the bios for Hynix, Samsung and Micron, they only played with Samsung settings, 100 blck 125 blck, no real luck, the heatsinks seem cheap, but if an LED lit bar is more important than than performance these may be for you

Re: GEIL SUPER LUCE ?
Aw heck...that's not Menthol grade memory!
For a 42 cache that's way lower than the G.Skill kits and +MHz higher... no no no..that won't do at all. 42 cache and XMP timings at 3000 gave me.... read 76482-write 65892-copy 74755
Try this maybe...to see what chips are on that stuff... http://www.passmark.com/products/rammon.htm
I have to say that is the best way to gauge tyre pressure

Re: GEIL SUPER LUCE ?
Those modules are the budget offering from GEIL not the performance kit. I have used many kits of there's in years past and they have been very competitive in the German market. DDR4 chip makers have tiered resellers who have purchased the rights to their best chips. GSkill for example had a lock on the DDR3 top grade chips for a long while. Not sure who has the strangle hold on DDR4 at the minute as I am seeing good results from quite a diverse vendor range. As it currently stands bios options or board design are playing more of a role than before.

Re: GEIL SUPER LUCE ?
They are advertized as being verified on 2 boards only neither one ASUS RVE, and I assume the very high blck and timings must play a big role, either way I can return for refund within 30 days. Nothing ventured nothing gained

Re: GEIL SUPER LUCE ?
Viz is right...seems the EVO Potenza kits are the performance modules...same spec as G.Skill stuff
