It is a nVidia chipset and while it did allow SLi it was not an ideal board for OCing.

I personally would not get it.

What you need is either a asus p5k deluxe or a rampage extreme(x48 ) the latter are like rocking horse poo and demand a premium.

I know that the non 64 version was pretty good at FSB overclocking for an X38 board but I have no idea how well the X38 chipset overclocks DDR3, that might be it's limiting factor.

The pro is X38 the Evolution is X48 - would get the X48 before the X38 chipset every time. P45 even is better for what you want to do.

Hard to find but if you can find one take it.

It is a very good clocker.

Good board. You will enjoy it.

How much and where? Actually only tell us after you get it or one of us will try and bid for it. :D

$90 USD, you mean. Euros are worth less than the GBP. ;)

80 EUR is only about 55 GBP or so.

For that kind of cash, I'd definitely get it. I don't know exactly how they clock as I only ever owned Rampage Extreme boards on X48, but it should do nicely with a bit of persuasion and tuning. :D

I reckon you'll have a good time with that board. It may not have all of the voltage controls of the Rampage, but it should give you what you need.

Can you do me a favour when you get the board? Please let me know what the lowest PLL voltage is that you can set. :D

This was one of the most unstable boards ever made. It was also a joke in Vista...

The chipset (nVidea) was a challenge. Once you got it running you could have fun with it but the NB got so hot it was a POS to work with at times.

Find a version of SetFSB that works on your motherboard.
Start with the FSB first before you mess with the multi.
Have good cooling, air or water on your NorthBridge.

Have fun.
